By joining NOMA, you will be joining a nationwide network of diverse professionals in the AEC industry. You will be the first to know about NOMA news, conferences, design competitions, and DEI-focused continuing education opportunities.

At the local level, we are 60 members strong, you will be able to shape and bolster the efforts of NOMA PDX, as we aim to serve the Architecture, Engineering, Construction & Creative community of students and professionals from different angles.

We have 4 committees: where do you see yourself?

SOCIAL EVENTS

Plan celebrations, Networking events, Jobsite Tours, Forums, and BIPOC focused Design Lecture Series to help grow the list of local BIPOC designers and strengthen the bridge between the local creative community and Architects.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH & ENGAGEMENT

Bridge between other AEC organizations/programs, facilitate neighborhood/community engagements, and create engagement opportunities for K-12 students such as the annual Architecture Summer Camp.

EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Develop Scholarships, mentorship opportunities for students (Undergrad through Grad School), and guidance through the licensure process with ARE exam resources and more.

CALL TO ACTION & WORKPLACE ADVOCACY

This is the space to talk workplace advocacy for minorities. Gather resources for firms doing DEI work, serve as a hub for DEI best practices between firms, and most importantly hold firms accountable and increase transparency.

FAQs

  • Non profits rely on donations to fuel their community projects.

    Membership dues besides donations are the most consistent income stream that we can rely on to fund things like Project Pipeline, and help others who need membership scholarships.

  • It is common practice for firms to pay for professional association dues, but we review grant applications for member dues. The submission period to be eligible for grants ends 1/5 of the calendar year.

    We also offer assistance to talk with your firm leaders about supporting members on their professional annual dues. Just reach out in our contact form of via email.

  • Reach out to your firm leaders an express your interest, or reach out to us and we can help back you up.

  • National Dues go towards paying for the initiatives on the National Level like the annual National Conferences.

    Local Dues go directly to NOMA PDX’s initiatives + goals.
